WINDOW MATERIALS
There are three primary materials that are used to make windows. Each one will vary in looks, cost, and durability.
Vinyl
Windows are one of the most popular choices for home window replacement. That’s because they’re cost-effective and energy-efficient. In addition to that, they’re easy to clean and won’t rot or corrode like some other materials.
Fiberglass
Fiberglass windows are incredibly durable — much more so than wood, although you can get them painted to look like wood. They’re resistant to fading and moisture and perform well in extremely hot and cold temperatures. The downside is that they’re the more expensive option of the three.
Wood
Wood-framed windows are beautiful, and oftentimes the preferred choice for those living in a home with a more traditional style. The biggest problem with wood is that it’s susceptible to moisture, rotting, warping, and sometimes even termites.
